I usually went to a different country every summer - besides spending half back home. I did do two around the world trips, but it is too many airports. So, I started spending a month here or there... Morocco, Syria (no longer possible sadly), Hong Kong, Thailand... lots of possibilities depending on your interests and budget.

(and I recall that we had a teacher from SQU who drowned in Pattaya... and he had just completed his PhD... and was heading to a new position in Asia) |

The general consensus would be anywhere outside the Gulf. |

| Goa itself is nice and not expensive for a holiday...but the beaches are usually filled with a lot garbage and human waste! |

| And unfortunately the Omani summer vacation coincides with the Indian monsoon season, so I don't think Goa is an option if you are looking for a beach vacation... |
