Dear Traveller,

If a company is stating in email correspondences that you will have x or y as part of your contract, then x and y should be included in your contract.

Please bear in mind that some employers may indeed include flights to country of origin for dependants as part of the contract but that even then it is only payable once you complete two years of service. The devil is in the detail. So of course not all employers insist on two years of service before paying for dependants' flights to and from country of origin but as mentioned above some employers do.

If it is the case then that even having that benefit written in to the contract comes with its own conditions, how do you think you might fare with no such written agreement. I leave you to draw your own conclusions.

Regards,

Abbas

Mohammed, that is misleading information. Employers who offer family status routinely offer summer leave tickets for employee and all dependants. They should also offer health cover, housing and education allowances.

Ive worked with Al - hussan my advice is to avoid them like a plague when it comes to sponsoring your family.

Istiqdaam process will take over 8 months I knew lots of teachers who were suffering.

a visit visa will be done quickly, and in no time but the problem is youl keep having to renew your wifes visa every month which is a pain and if you have children then its worse you can imagine.

If you dont have family and a spouse then Al-Hussan is the best company out there as it will look after all your needs.

I dont hate both companies, im just stating what the reality is on the battlefield.

Which is why I stated that the OP focus first on what's best for his family rather than how the students and admin are, working conditions, etc. Plus, he has a relevant MA and 1-2 years experience, so he should consider direct-hire opportunities like KFUPM, which offers family benefits, and possibly Prince Sultan University as well. Whether they're still hiring is another matter.

Scot47, with ICEAT, all benefits are included that are expected for me, and as for my family, they are providing insurance. They are not paying visa and flight fees though. Those are on me. Still, from what I seen here and from other sources, it seems many people agree that ICEAT seems to be the way to go. That is the impression I am getting.

Nomad soul, I applied to direct hires but with no luck as my teaching experience is not in ESL directly, nor is it international. Hopefully the next year or two will get me the experience I need for direct hires.

I know teachers at both companies. I've heard fewer complaints from those at ICEAT.
