What companies are still using work/visit visas?

I would expect that there will be at least a short term increase for the start of the academic year.

Yes, still being used extensively. Very unstable and insecure job, they can let you go at anytime.

In that regard. an Iqama offers very little real protection. The reality is that companies etc. in Saudi Arabia can drop a teacher at will and there is very little that a teacher can do about it. In some ways business visas are a lot better because they require a lot less investment on the part of the teacher. You really don't want to invest money in Saudi Arabia. From the very start such as in getting an employment visa, the Saudis can and will screw a teacher for the most trifling reasons - consider the SACM, or the most dishonest reasons - consider businesses.

If I had a choice, I think I would prefer a business visa to an iqama. I currently have an iqama. It would mean the occassional company paid trip to renew and I wouldn't need an exit visa. (Would I? Suddenly, I'm not certain). Yes, assuming I wouldn't need an exit visa, I'd prefer it.
