I don't like malls either, but I do like desert, farms, valleys, mountains, camping, beaches & coastline, ruins, caves, a certain bridge & other road borders, plus numerous points of interest. Wink

Travelin in the middle east is great but only if you have an open heart and not coming in with outdated notions of grandeur.

Also, i find it wierd how someone could judge or criticise a country based on its skylines why does that even matter? If anything, skylines are overrated.

I had low expectations of travelling around the entire Gulf (which I did quite comfortably) and wasn't left too disappointed when I found out I was right. Kuwait and Qatar especially. Even Dubai and Abu Dhabi weren't all that either. Yet none of my friends home ever believe me when I say 'Dubai isn't so great'...

Traveling in the Gulf is not what I meant about traveling in the Middle east.

That's like comparing traveling in Beverly Hills or New York to a trip around America.

You don't need much heart for visits to Dubai or Doha. It's pretty much a soulless place. However visiting Oman, Iran, Kurdistan, and even into North Africa (especially Morocco, Sudan, Egypt) one can truly appreciate the magic of this great land.

Last I checked, Oman was located in the Gulf Peninsula...
