anybody have any experience with this organisation? is the monthly stipend enough to survive/live on?

Yes they're very popular. If you're talking about the SENA or colegio program, yes it's enough to live on but it depends on what city you live in. If you're going to live in Bogota, Medellin or Cali, you're going to have to budget yourself but for other cities you should be fine.

I haven't worked for them but have had terrible luck getting responses from them after applying.

[and by terrible luck getting a response I mean getting two different emails -- one an auto reply, and later from a live person after I wrote asking why I hadn't heard -- saying, "let us know what times are good for you for your Skype interview" and then no response. This is after spending hours completing essays, finding documents, completing their application form, etc. Really unprofessional.]

thats a shame. ive found them to be very helpful and very responsive. maybe try e mailing them again to organise a skype intervew. i just finished my first skype interview and now i have to pick my placement preferences and then hopefully organise a second round skype interview with some people in colombia. looks like i will be going to colombia next year.
