All good points, urban placement is pretty iffy with JET and the September start could be a problem. In my case, they actually placed me near my in-laws, (easy commute to the big city) and I skated by on my private students and Hello Work until I started my new job the following April.
JET says, "No other jobs." but if it's cash under the table and does not interfere in any way with your real job, no one cared.
But yeah, if it has to be Tokyo, you'll have to take anything that gets you there and gets you your visa. Once you get your feet on the ground, network and good luck. |
