I find this site very helpful, however, I can't decide on which school to teach for. It seems like every company is out to scam. Can someone tell me of a good experience they had, or know of a good school with a good reputation? Thanks!

It really has a lot to do with you as a person. How quickly can you adjust? Schools aren't in business long if they don't pay you. There are jobs. Make what you will of them, there are lots of jobs. Try a chain school if you aren't too sure. Kindies pay best but are the hardest work. Privates can be lucrative but spotty. I prefer adults. I don't get paid as much, but I prefer quality over quantity.

If you want a laugh, you could always check Chicken Little's defacto union....

Have you heard of Edinburgh schools, or Frobel in Keelung, or as they call it, Forest American School?

Man, I came over here and seem to have found a decent place right away. Thing is, it's always better to check things out in person rather than trust the net. Most of the teachers I've met so far here seem to be satisfied. Even met one guy who's been here nine years.

As for a good experience, IT JUST ISN'T THE OPERATIVE WORD!! TEACHING'S GOING TO BE CRAZY SOMETIMES, but you have to adapt and learn to find your niche' here, and that by being TOLERANT while teaching. Things won't come easy, but YOU CAN BET YOU'LL BE TREATED FAIRLY IF YOU FAIR WELL IN ADAPTING TO A MORE HIGH STRESSED ENVIRONMENT WITHOUT LOSING IT!!

So I say. But on Dave's I. . .
