Hi Everyone,
(I have some face discoloration I want to get rid of).
What's better for laser surgery: China, Korea, or somewhere else?
Any forums, etc. I could join? |

I've heard of people going to Iran for laser eye surgery. Presumably cosmetic laser surgery is also available. Do a web search using the keywords expat forum Iran and trawl through the results. |

Hi etrial...,
A former colleague had a facelift in Thailand and looked so natural. Some British ex-pats consulted cosmetic MD in India. I wouldn't worry so much about the country as the credentials of the cosmetic surgeon performing the procedure. There are competent and then not so competent MDs everywhere.
With respect to China, frankly, I wouldn't undergo such a procedure where hygiene might be an issue.
Other former colleagues in UAE had "age spots" removed with the Pearl procedure which they said felt like someone hitting your face with paintballs or rubber bands. The pulsating level varies according to skin type. Their face was very red and sensitive for about 4-5 days and had a follow up to insure there were no adverse effects/ infection. However, it is only effective for 3-6 months and works better with fair skin than olive complexion. I think they paid about $100 back in 2009. It did make their complexion look even and bright. I also understand that it is effective against inhibiting potential malignancies for those fair, freckled folks who had too much fun in the sun.
Hope this helps. Definitely verify the MD's credentials and experience in the procedure.
Regards,

Thank you all for the info.
I would agree both are good. In terms of absolute quality, I know Korea is better than Thailand; but, it's probably also more expensive.
So, quality per dollar spent is what I'm debating.
I'll also see if there's good insurance for cosmetic surgery. Yes, laser surgery for the skin would rarely be life threatening; but, always good to be safe. |
