In the summer of 96 i taught conversaton english for Toza. Heard they went belly up. Any stories, contacts, etc. I remember a crazy corporate outing to Tokyo Disneyland. Does anyone else?

They didnt just go belly up they put dozens of teachers out of work who came to work one day and found they were locked out and were owed up to two months wages. I remember one TV celebrity rakugo artist Katsura Sanshi saying on TV he had paid about 800,000 yen in tuition fees and it just went down a black hole. Hundreds of students suddenly found they had no school to go to and were left out of pocket hundreds of thousands of yen. Word on the street was that the company president was siphoning off money for personal use e.g. one million yen a month apartment etc.
It was just before the Hanshin earthquake, I believe.
