I watched A LOT of Netflix during my time in KSA. It's definitely doable with a proxy. I use HMA! Pro.

Netflix can easily be used with a VPN. I recommend Private Internet Access. It's only £3 a month and its Android app means that you can also watch stuff on your tablet/phone. This is essential if you want to use your tablet to read books on and you want to purchase these from Google play because without a VPN it won't let you purchase books as you're in Saudi.

Hi all

Am coming to Riyadh soon and want to know if I can still download Kindle as describe below. My Kindle is registered in my country, South Africa, so I should have no problems downloading? Right?

Or have things changed drastically?

Thanks!

Before leaving for KSA, sign up for a VPN service that includes a South African IP address.

Download and install onto your laptop a free ebook management programme called Calibre from www.download.com. You can get most ebooks on torrent sites (most of which, like kickass, aren't blocked in Saudi) then put them onto your kindle via Calibre. Saves a lot of farting about.

Hi, Guys just a quick one here. Which version of netflix do you get in KSA via proxy?

I ask this as the Uk version varies from the US. Seems as though the US get more variety. is it possible to switch between the two etc?

I don't have a netflix account at the moment, but my VPN is able to choose from a variety of countries to proxy from. Most paid VPNs I see marketed are able to do this and they're pretty reliable provided your connection is stable * not always a guarantee in KSA!)

I reflect on the 1970s before all this technology. My luggage on return to Saudi after vacation was 20kg of books. Remember them ! Those heavy things made of paper and cardboard ?

I've used a proxy to watch US netflix in the UK, got to watch new series which wern't released in the UK at the time. I found a few free Proxy servies, however you would be better off with a reliable one, as the free ones tend to get cut off after a short while.
