I have recently accepted a teaching position in Suita, Osaka, and I'm scheduled to arrive at the end of October. I browsed the city's official website, but I couldn't find the information I was looking for. Is winter in Suita very cold? Should I dress very warmly when I arrive? What is there to do for fun? Where can I find a gym?

If anyone can provide any information, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Google is your friend: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osaka

Click on 3.2 for a climate chart.

End of October you might need a light jacket/sweater, depending on time of day. As you can see from the chart, winters are very mild.

You've gotten a nice part of town. One of our kids went to uni there (阪大), I liked the area.

Depends what fun is for you.
Kyoto and Kobe are not far away.

I would drink in Umeda.

Winter is not bad but Osaka has hot summers.

English Village looks interesting.

Some Japanese friends who live there are involved in the music scene there, and a European friend went there to check it out, and married a local guy. Her wedding was in the winter, and I found it quite mild.

Hey guys/girls, I'll be working at OEV with you guys as well.

Has anyone made a FB group or anything of the sort yet?

P.S. I love indie music as well, looking to hit up all sorts of concerts if possible.
