How good is your English? Do you have a very strong accent? Can you write in a North American style? Can you explain fluently and coherently or do you stumble and pause? I have seen non-native speakers get good jobs, but their fluency/grammar/writing lever is very high.

Most recruiters are cowboys and will hawk you to their client schools if they think they can get a quick placement.
I feel you will be better off making your own approaches to schools rather than seeking that magic bullet. |

It's a hard task to recommend recruiters because they are all pretty shitty and many of them disappear or change names randomly.
One thing to keep in mind is never pay a recruiter. The school pays them; there is no need for you to pay them and any who ask for it are scamming you.
Also, try to use ones that plainly say they are a recruiter. Lots of them try to dress themselves up with fancy names and bullshit which you don't need. |

Every single Chinese recruiter I dealt with to date is a lying thief. It changed my mind about working in China. The only part of China I would work in is Hong Kong or Guangdong province. And if there was no option but to use a recruiter for Guangdong province, I would make sure they are based in Hong Hong, at least one can knock at their door if there is a problem at 'the school'. Most streets and building names in Hong Kong are in English and Mandarin, making it easier to find one's way around. Agents and recruiters in China can not be trusted, I have yet to hear of an honest one. |
