If you see an ad for Hampson, you will notice that the salary is ok.
When they offer you a contract, you will notice the salary is much lower. They give BS reasons. If you ask the salary before the interview, they will lie about it. |

I had a former student (Chinese) who worked at the front desk at a nearby Hampson school after her graduation from university. There were all sorts of shady stories I heard. About half of the teachers were white eastern Europeans working on tourist visas and telling their students they were American or British...
Not the most reputable place. This was about 5 years ago, though. They may have become more legit...maybe. |

| No, it is still very shady. Lots of illegals. Shady with money. |

I had an interview in one recently. The teachers I saw and met there were from Anglosphere countries at least. The ones in the tier 2 cities will you pay you peanuts... 'Bout 120 RMB or less an hour. The ones in tier 1s aren't much different.. probably around 150.
I don't understand why they try to lowball you. At least most mainstream chains pay you a respectable salary, even if they're crap. |

They contacted me out of the blue today, I had recently been seeking PT gigs, guess someone passed on my info. They asked if I was still seeking PT, I replied ''Maybe - whom do you represent?' When they replied 'Hampson' I said, 'oh, ok, no thanks then'
A conversation ensued whereby the recruiter demanded to know why I dismissed them so quickly, 'because the money sucks' I replied. She became quite defensive as to the reasons they pay peanuts. Sure I agreed, you are in a tough financial climate, I understand, but your bottom line still is unacceptable, why should I take 160 off you when someone else is giving me 333? There the conversation ended...
They have nothing going for them, God knows how they survive.... |
