Realistically what could someone find for pay as someone with a degree and a CELTA but no teaching experience?

From what I've read so far, 2.5 million COP per month as a newbie. Maybe you could luck out and find more though, especially in Bogotá.

That's a little on the high side. 2.5 would be quite good for a newbie, even in Bogota.

What about on the coast? What could a newbie expect in Barranquilla, for example? Maybe 2 mil?

At the most you can probably earn 2-2.5 teaching at the institutes.

A lot of teachers I know (here in Bogotá) will work for two or more institutions to fill their schedules and earn that $2m+ figure. There will be a few that give you a full time job for $2m but I think these may be rare especially with no experience. But you should be able to earn that amount if you take classes with various institutions

2 mil pesos is not a given. I was offered 2 mil pesos for a full-time gig at a decent colegio in Cali. I agree that many teachers in Bogota are scampering across the city in order to make up their class loads and hit 2 mil pesos or a bit more.

How many hours of contact teaching time is that?? The salary I quoted in Cali was for around 35 working hours (8-4 including lunch) with about 20 hours of class teaching time per week. I doubt you would be teaching 48 hours a week..

I was also required to go in a few weekends during the year for staff training.

1 mil? Hell no. 2 mill? That is less then 700 dollars. It is possible but it wouldn't be very enjoyable imo.
