Kind of in a bad situation. My fault, just realized my visa expired in a week, so I need to get rid of my stuff in a week before my visa expired(2 beds, shelves, monitor,tv,sofa, etc).

What happen if I can't get rid of them by the time my visa expired? I know some places will recycle my stuffs but that require some prep works which I dont have much time to do so now.

Is there any services for cases like this?

Try "Recycle Shops" (second-hand goods stores) and take your stuff there. Got rid of loads of old games, books and other crap by going to one.

Also, I took every chance to get rid of my stuff - I had a bunch of stuff I sold at a Yoyogi Park party to one lucky lady who offered the princely sum of 1man for it. I decorated my farewell party with a bunch of random tat I couldn't convince the Recycle Shops to buy.

You didn't say where you are. Craigslist and Tokyo Freecycle have good reaches across the Kanto plain.

Also try that monolithic social network, FB.

There were are various charity groups that collect for people in and around Fukushima. A guy came around in a van and collected my fridge, table, oven and various other stuff..

Maybe check Facebook to see if collections are still happening for those groups or others.

Recycle shops can be a pain as they will only take certain kinds of items. If you can't find one, your local ward or city will be able to take them for you, for a fee. They will have a telephone number you can call, and/or a website on which you can click on the items you want to dispose of, and key in the date you want them taking. Items are categorized. You then go to your local convenient store and pay for the appropriate stickers (gomi shori ken) to put on each item, then put it outside your apartment building before or on the day you've chosen.

Search your city or ward office's website and you should find it. Or go in and ask them. Small items are usually a couple of hundred yen, bigger ones will cost more.

They usually have someone who speaks English, or can handle it. You'll have to check with them or their website when they can collect.

I did this recently. I left my apartment a few days before the collection, and just left my stuff at the front of the building for a few days. You'll have to check with your landlord that that's OK. Might be a bit tricky with large stuff like a sofa and a bed.

Failing that, you could just leave the stuff in your apartment and clear off (I've done that before as well). The landlord will probably clean the place after you leave. They won't be happy about it as they'll have to pick up the bill, but if you've left the country, there's nothing they can do (just don't go back to the same landlord again, if you do come back to Japan).

As others have said, try facebook. Also, if there are any local guesthouses, try e-mailing them. If you have any people who do Airbnb they'd probably be interested as well.

There are vans that drive around offering to take stuff - I also get flyers for them in my mailbox.
