bennufc comment is interesting because it somewhat undermines my opinion that the school will have teed up the PSB approval BEFORE going ahead with an offer.
Underlines the desirability of having other offers 'on the go' until you have the Z visa in your passport.
I advise bennufc to make contact with other schools in less strict areas now.
What are you going to do if the school comes back and says 'no can do'. |
The Beijing PSB changes things all the time. I spent a long time with the guy who does most of the visa/residence permit stuff for our school due to long car rides sorting out my residence permit. His story was basically that every time he goes in things are a little bit different. They are not predictable at all. There are laws but they are written loosely enough that they can be interpreted differently depending on the official. |

| After waiting so long for some positive news I finally got the email this morning with the green light. The school/BLCU are now in the process of getting the letter of invitation to send me and hopefully I should be there within the next few weeks. Better late than never! |

Well my contract started on the 1st of September! I've not yet been given an adjusted start date, only that they're now working on the invitation letter. So maybe 3-4 weeks? I don't really know how quickly it goes from here. |

| *update* I arrived in Beijing around three weeks ago and have been teaching for the local elementary school I was assigned way back in June. A reminder to stay patient if ever there was one! |
