Hi everyone,

I've already bothered people with this question on other boards. Anyways I have an MA TESOL through a UK university, a TESOL certificate, and several years of experience in pretty well every teaching context (short of university). I do lack a BA - which I understand seems odd - and was able to get into the program based on my teaching experience.

I'm now exploring options, and would like to know if this might pose an issue in Singapore - mainly with regard to work visas. I'm interested mainly in university work (which I'm not sure if I'm eligible for without uni experience) or work at the junior high/high school level.

Much appreciated,

The main issue will be whether the MA was studied online or not. This might not be a problem outside the Middle East, though.

It's considered blended learning (a mix of in-class lectures, and online research).

Blended learning would not cut it in the Middle East. They check for any online component. Elsewhere they are more relaxed, though!

Thanks for quick response. Not so interested in the ME at the moment fortunately - though might be someday in order to make some bank.

Any clue about the sitch in Singapore?

You could land work here, though probably not at Singapore govt universities.

There are plenty of other places that will have you.

Thanks for that! Would I likely be settling for language center work, or might there be other options?

You mentioned your teaching cert. Is it a CELTA or Trinity rather than an online?

You should try one of the many private tertiary education providers.

Hello, I am also similar to the Sudz, 6 years experience, Trinity cert and MA TESOL. I am interested in opportunities in the TESOL industry in Singapore? Preferably something that requires a masters.
any leads?
