A friend recently told me that call centre work is a good way to find teaching employment in the Philippines. Is this true? If so would a 50 year old American teacher with an MA TESOL (no US teaching certification though) and 25 years teaching experience be able to get a job teaching at a call centre in Manila or Cebu? I don't have any experience in the corporate world or with business English, would this be a problem? What are the salary and conditions like for call centre instructors?

That would be English for Specific Purposes (ESP) for Call Centers --- AKA call center English.
You might take a look at the following 2015 article for a sense of what a call center entails:
Also do an Internet search on job call center English trainer to see what qualifications are generally required. |
