Hello,

Has anybody ever used Raifeissen Connect to transfer money home to the U.K.? I transferred some money 7 days ago in GBP from Raifeissen and it still hasn't appeared in my U.K. account. Is this normal? I've contacted Raifeissen and they say that the money was transferred from their side. My U.K. bank say that they can't do anything as nothing has appeared on their side.

Cheers in advance for any advice.

I think it can take up to 2 weeks.

I think it may also depend on any intermediaries involved. For example, when I transfer between Raifeissen and my UK account it needs to go through HSBC (or maybe NatWest, I can't remember) first since my bank doesn't directly handle international transfers. If your bank uses such an intermediary, the delay might be there.

If it's not done in 2 weeks, worry. I assume that you have checked and double checked that your bank details were correct and the IBAN/SWIFT were all good.

Cheers Holly, sorry, Phillip.

The transfer actually appeared in my account yesterday so it took eight days in total. Yes, the intermediary is HSBC so they must hold it for a while.

I wanted to transfer a small amount so I did £50 but only £30 was transferred. Sorry to bug you again but do you know where the charges come from and what's the best way to keep them down?

Thanks for the reply and I hope you're still in touch with Gordon.

Gordon slept with my wife. We're not speaking.

As for charges, they were always explained to me when I made the transfer (although I admit that I didn't really pay much attention). If I remember correctly, they usually charged me around 2000rub on a transfer of several hundred pounds, so if you also lost £20 on the transfer, it may well be a flat fee.
