Not just the UK. For the US, there's TESOL International, April 5-8, in Baltimore, Maryland. Some Gulf employers are likely to head to either or both of these conventions, so jobseekers residing in the US and UK might find it worthwhile to attend if the Mid East interests them. TESOL Int'l is pricey, however. |

I've never been to an EFL job fair before, what can you expect on the day?
Do you just walk from stall to stall and speak to them and see if you can land an interview?
Or would you just use this as an opportunity to get to know the employers and take their details and apply online?
Many thanks for all responses.

TESOL Arabia, IATEFL, and TESOL Int'l post specific instructions for job seekers on their websites along with the job ads from participating employers. Generally, applicants apply for each advertised opening they want to interview for by submitting their CV either online or in person at the job fair. If the employer is interested, they will contact the applicant with a possible interview time.
For TESOL Arabia, upon registration, each applicant is given a unique number to write on his/her CV before submitting it for a position. The job fair reps then pass the CV over to the employer for review. If that number shows up on the interview boards under the target employer, it means the applicant has been selected for a face-to-face with the recruiting team/hiring manager and will need to schedule an interview time via the job fair reps. Interviews are privately held in individual rooms in the hotel as opposed to open booths or stalls. |

I've managed to secure some interview slots, just a quick question.
If one of the interview over runs and cuts into my time booked with another, would they not be best pleased? or do they expect these things at the job fair? |

Given that both TESOL Arabia and TESOL Int'l ended last month, I assume you're referring to IATEFL in the UK, which apparently starts this week.
I have no personal experience with that job fair, but if you feel that your back-to-back interviews will overlap, then reschedule one of them with the prospective employer or job fair rep that handles interview times. Anyway, it's always best to space your interviews a few hours apart or on different days since there's a possibility the interviewers themselves may not start on time. |
