I'm currently looking at moving to Taiwan from Korea and finding work. I understand the 60 day tourist visa is the way to go - has anyone tried to get it from anywhere other than their home country? I can't seem to find any information about the process from overseas or where to file the paperwork for a Taiwan visa from Korea. I'm looking at leaving for Taiwan in a few weeks - will I have time to get the 60 day visa?

If you're in Seoul, there's a place not far from Kyobo bookstore in Kwanghuamun. It's been a few years but I seem to recall that it was on the same side as the Sejong cultural center. You can get a 60-day tourist visa there and that is the way to go--even better if you can get one that can be extended. A 60-day visa gives you plenty of time to get things done and decide whether or not you actually want to stay.

Call a travel agent.

Quote:
American military and their dependents get a 5 year Multiple Entry Visa just for applying. The US military travel agency is called SATO and also assist foreign civilians who are in any way associated with the US military.

Next time you see that GI out on the town ask them how to do it.

I am in pretty much the same boat as Thembe.. re going to Taiwan from Korea. Is it a major pain in the butt getting a 60 day visa from a country which isnt your own? Does it take a long time to sort/money?

Thembe...did you go through with it in the end?

nice one.... cheers!
