I have a possible opportunity of a job in Japan. Do I need a CRC to get a visa? If so is a basic disclosure ok for the UK? Thanks |

Along with your recent possible job opportunities in:
China
Germany
Hong Kong
Italy
KSA
and
Libya?
Hopefully no one will waste too much time with this poster - he's clearly not serious, and has a posting history including very time-wasting pms. I once found that at the same time he was asking me about details like neighborhoods and 'help me choose a flat,' he was doing the exact same thing with a poster in another country. He's got a few incarnations here (some now banned).
Your choice, of course, but if you check mingvase's posting history, you'll see what I mean. |

elliot_spencer posts like this.
He also posted about 8 or 9 years ago under a different handle but also in the same chaotic manner. For instance, in one post he reports being a UK citizen married to a Taiwanese woman and looking for positions in Taiwan, and then, later, he posts that he is gay and that he would like to know if x-y-z country is gay-friendly. Odd. Wonder what the deal is. Could it be either a TEFL'er with mental problems or an EFL student just wanting to practice or interact in some way with with native speakers?
But very few people, other than you, seem to have picked up on it over the years.

Yes, that's one of the aliases I recall. There's also LV-something (also banned now) and currently gamze-something.
There are actually at least 5 or 6 who've noticed this by now, including the poster who compared notes with me about the pm inquiries.
In my kinder moments, I suspect he's forced for some possibly good reason to spend his days seeking internet company one way or another. At other times, I just think he's a weirder sort of troll, and in many ways, someone who wastes the time and energy of others is worse than a troll who openly picks fights. |

From what you've said, and the fact he's asking about a CRC, I'm wondering whether he's a criminal. I've known of TEFLers who do it to run away from crimes and statutes of limitations back home.
Or else they continue to commit crimes while job-hopping around the world, to cover their tracks. I'm sure you can guess what sort of crimes I'm referring to. |

I have been to court for some things but I think they're spent now. Still waiting for the disclosure to arrive in the post. I have a skype interview coming up for a position in Japan. They don't pay the key money though on your apartment so it will cost 100,000 yen to set up shop there. |
