I had my medical in China last week and my school have applied for my FEC since. I'm curious about the medical test results - I was wondering if I passed it all ok! Should be ok - Would they have told me if there was any problem?

You can't apply for a FEC unless you pass the medical exam. |

So I guess I must have passed. I'm a worrier - what other reasons could there be for FEC and residence permit refusal? |

Or you have a terminal disease from which you will die in 11 months and they're not telling you so they can hire you then not have to pay your end of contract bonus. |

There are very few reasons for which you can fail. Don't worry. |

Your question is a bit oddly worded. I think you are asking if the testing facility would have told you if you would pass the requirements for the FEC. The answer is no. They are just testing, they will not tell you if you are ok or not, that is the job of a hospital. If something was seriously wrong they might point it out and tell you to go to the hospital. They by no means will tell you if you will pass/fail the requirements of an FEC, they are not actually connected to the FEC people and don't know/care how that department handles the results. |

Thanks - I just meant if they would tell me if anything abnormal enough showed up to prevent getting the FEC. |

Mmmm... This might vary from place to place. When i first arrived in China, I knew that I had an irregular heart beat. The guys in the white coats showed me the smeared cardiogram printout and told the guy from the FAO's office that my heartbeart was irregular. I told them that I was okay. My heartbeat has been irregular since i was born. No problems after that.
A few years later (at a different school), nobody said anything about it during or after the ECG.
A few years later (at still another school), the medical technician and the FAO rep got into a spirited conversation about it. The FAO rep got the med tech to calm down. I passed, but had the FAO rep not pointed out my medical clinic's seal of approval several times, I might not have passed.
The FAO told me to drink a lot of tea, stay out of the sun, and live a peaceful life. I tried to get my super stressful ten hours class time reduced to a moderately stressful six hours, but the FAO wasn't really sincere about my living a peaceful life.
I did, however, get bottled water delivered to me when I wanted it.
This was all in Jiangsu. |

You can pretty much bet you have 'fatty liver'.
I asked my Dr about this when I was home and he said 'all westerners have this'.
A point though is that the PICC use the medical results to exclude items from their cover. |

No. I was just told that I was fat. I am 6'1" 190 lbs (with my clothes on) and I am fat.
My SPGT from home indicated no fatty liver, so I'm not a good prospect for fois gras. |

Guess it depends on location. The place I went was not dedicated to foreign workers and was more of a conveyer belt system. |

My local Dr I have to add was an Indian.
I guess that biased his view a little and I thought 'all Westerners' was a little too all encompassing.
Do watch for PICC exclusions based on the medical, if you take that cover. |
