Shouldn't that be "It was OK, though, because I'd read Voltaire"?
Pedantry aside, will Eng-er-land's Six Nations triumph raise Euro-scepticism to fever pitch and result in Brexit? |

The rugby triumph of our English cousins obvioulsy hasn´t gone down well with Graham. It may be difficult for outsiders to grasp but since we Scots have so little to celebrate sportswise, we tend to celebrate England´s failures as OUR successes. For example, England losing the Ashes or flopping in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups when we didn´t even qualify. Scottish success is guaranteed at Euro 2016 when England will inevtably bow out at some stage. We´re fine folk but so small-minded at the same time. |

That's an assumption worthy of Hod, old bhoy. My comment was aimed at the jingoism which invariably accompanies English sporting achievements. |

Why? Why Engurland and not England.? The jingoism which accompanies English sporting achievements is insignificant compared with the gush of national pride which we have to endure here in Spain. Take my word for it. |

The extra syllable is a notable feature of the song World In Motion by New Order.

When I lived in "Espain" I discovered that everything there is better - the food, the music, the weather... you name it. I guess it's the legacy of 36 years of Franco. |

I almost dropped my Voltaire reading the above.
I played rugby at school and uni, but I haven't watched a single game for decades. In fact, true story, in Malaysia in 2003 on the day of the rugby world cup final, we had a minor household mishap and someone had to volunteer to wait for the landlord to arrive. But wait, the 2003 final (Aus V Eng) was on TV at a friend's house in an hour's time. How could anyone wait for the landlord at such an auspicious occasion?
It was quite easy.
Football, that'd be different. But even then I won't do something daft, e.g. rip up my shiny new EIRE passport, if England and Sir Roy progress to the quarter finals this year. |

It's partly in deference to the late Sir Terence, I admit, but I'm also a bit wary of being at the mercy of so many Daily Mail readers who might actually vote in this EU referendum.
My strictly-monitored ESLCafe (Official*) Brexit poll currently shows two thirds of voters staying in, so I can relax for a few days, but I know I'm not alone in applying for an Irish passport.
* It pains me to point out your otherwise excellent Donald Trump poll lacks the Official rating. I organised this weeks ago to ensure integrity was maintained. For this reason, I might not vote in your poll. I mean, you don't even get to see who's voted. |

It's a secret ballot. Cast your vote in confidence! |

Now, we have Obama meddling in the politics of the UK, and interfering with the EU referendum!
Obama wants to lecture the UK population about the benefits of staying in the EU?
Ted Cruz: Obama anti-Brexit campaign will see 'England pull out of EU'
“President Obama, if anything his campaigning against [Britain leaving] will make it more likely that England will pull out of the EU,” said the Texas senator and Republican presidential candidate, who was campaigning in North Carolina ahead of Tuesday’s primary."
"The Independent on Sunday reported this weekend that Obama will travel to the UK in April, as part of a trip already including Germany, to lend his support to the campaign against the so-called “Brexit”. The British prime minister, David Cameron, wants Britain to stay in the European Union. The referendum on the question will take place on 23 June."

It seems Obama wants to repeat the same tactic he used when he interfered with Scotland vote for independence.
We will see what he will say when he visits the UK in April?
Well, my friend Jonny told me that Britain is the 51st State of the US!! |

Does President Trump have a view on Brexit?
He's already (almost) banned from entering the UK so will presumably be banned from the entire EU if the UK stays in.
I'm going to miss the special relationship. |

Anyone have an opinion about Brexit or will we have another two pages of weirdos? |

I think the weirdos remark is incorrect, as it is plural. He managed to get himself on two pages. Glad he is reading Voltaire, though wish he would stop dropping it. Wonder if that is a new euphemism, dropping the Voltaire (what it could mean is under debate). |

Me, a weirdo? Everyone's entitled to an opinion, except you that is, because you can't even be bothered to vote in elections. |
