I didn't register with the police once on entering the country - could I get in trouble for this? Or have trouble gaining another residence permit? |

If you were working on a legit visa, your school must have done it for you.

But doesn't the foreigner need to go with the school representative(s, usually three or four people for no particularly sane reason) to the local police station to get the Registration Certificate that is needed for the subsequent FEC and temporary work permit?
Does the OP have these? |

In my area (northeast) visa (not FEC) is required to register with local police. The FEC is not dependent upon registration nor is registration dependent upon the FEC. When getting the FEC from the PSB they don't GAS about the BIB and the BIB CCL about the PTB (IMO). Both require a visa but beyond that they are independent procedures.
Personally, years ago I forgot to register upon entry and the next year when I went to re-register they jokingly chastised me. HOWEVER, I had known them for years so YMMV. Depends on how anal the locals are.
P.S. - You said, "...once on entering the country...". Does that mean this happened prior to your last entry and you are currently registered? If you're registered now I would think you're in the clear and this is moot. |
