Hello everyone!
Does anyone know what happened to TQ Pearson in Saudi? I interviewed for them last year and it went very well. Then I heard their contract had not been renewed and TQ Pearson themselves were very unhelpful.
Thanks |

I think they are out in the cold.. You have to remember that these companies are all here on a somewhat temporary basis. They are involved in the College of Excellence schemes, but they don't own anything on campus. If you want to work for another employer then try Laureate Vocational. Similar money, same set-up in a vocational college, and same pros and cons. |

They were fired by COE from most of their contracts. There was a stipulation that COE could get rid of them within a certain period and they decided to do so. Apparently, they didn't do well when they were audited or inspected either. I've heard they are on there way out from their last remaining contracts in KSA. |

I believe they are still involved with SPSP on the east coast and Petro Rabigh on the west. |

So when I was interviewed last year, they must have known this? Because within one week things fell apart it seems. |

A friend at TQ advises that they will soon be out with these sites as well. TQ has only months remaining in the Magic Kingdom.

I worked with TQ last year and they were a great company to work for. They paid really well and gave a nice severance package when they lost their contract. I feel spoiled after working for them because most companies don't pay anywhere near what they were paying.
They lost their contracts and there was bad blood between COE and TQ. These contracts are steered to COE's advantage and based on numbers of students and attendance percentages. So it's easy to say yes to something but the reality is more difficult. COE wanted TQ to reinvest huge money in the technical training aspects of the college but they were holding onto their money because they'd have to invest millions into programs with only a few students.
I have the sneaking suspicion that the worse COE operates the more money they make and wonder if it's in their best interests if the colleges don't succeed so they can pocket the money.
Our campus did great on inspections and audits but the writing was on the wall with COE. I'm really proud of the student's progress and of the work we did there. Now the college is run by Niagra College from Canada and they'll probably be running into similar problems over the next few years. |
