Hi Everyone
I am looking to chat to anyone who has recently joined KAU or will be joining them in September 2016. (I have seen much older posts)
My questions:
Finding accommodation....
Female viewpoints....
Visa for visiting family members...
I look forward to your responses.

Hello,
I'm not too sure about your questions but am sure for females they provide accomodation as they are responsible for you as per Saudi Law, as you are not accompanied by a male.
Whearas a male candidate would be responsible for themselves.
I may be wrong.
Regards
Paul |

Hi Paul
Thank you for your prompt response.
The contract says that I need to find my own accommodation.
Do you work at KAU? |

Contracting companies like ICEAT, EdEx, etc., generally provide accommodation (usually in a serviced-apartment building) for female teachers staffed at their various project sites. However, women hired directly by a university (like myself) may be given housing and furniture allowances if there's no university-designated faculty housing. |

No. In fact, I left KSA in 2013. |

I assume you are female and thus, you would have housing provided.
I have to ask - why work there? |

I believe you left KAU several years ago. Plus, you're male. So are you saying employer-provided housing for female teachers is new as of 2015/2016? My friends who taught at KAU as direct hires were given a housing allowance just like the men. |
