I recently turned in my Certificate of Eligibility, completed Visa Application Form, valid U.S. passport with plenty of blank visa pages, and a passport photo to the Japanese consulate. I have no criminal record (no arrests, no convictions, not even a speeding ticket). What are my chances of getting the work visa? I read that a visa can be denied even with a CoE. The lady at the consulate said I can pick up my passport this Friday. Hopefully, it will have my visa in it. |

If you handed them your passport, it will come back with a visa in it. They've already approved your application. |

What Maitoshi says.
Welcome to beaurocracy in Japan. You'll find that heaps of paper come your way - registering with municipal hall, insurance papers, housing contracts, all kinds of forms. |
