Hi all,

Anyone recently bought a small laptop? I'm wanting portability and flexibility over anything else, something that will weigh not much more than a hardback book and has good connectivity via wireless Wi-Fi, cable internet, HDMI, and USB. It's as a replacement when (not if) the classroom tech doesn't cooperate so it doesn't matter how small the screen is.

It needs to run Windows Office, Chrome browser, VLC, a large HDD or thumb drive, and last long enough on a full charge for 2 hours intensive use.

I'm totally open to make ('cept Apple), and can budget for up to $700 or 500 newly minted pounds of sterling.

Added a poll for kicks.

Thanks in advance! Very Happy

If you're willing to go through YouTube tutorials on running Office 365 on Chrome books, HP's newest Chromebook 13 gets you Google's assault on the PC/laptop market in terms of price, memory, processing speed and battery life.

I've not had many snags dumping Microsoft's suite for Libre Office.

Thanks, never heard of Libre Office, is it an app, cloud-based or a program? I'd need to be able to use it and access a memory stick even without internet access.
