Affiliated High School of Fujian Normal University

A friend of mine is trying to persuade me to work there. It looks like it's more or less in the middle of Fuzhou. Contract seems OK. 8000~9000 a month plus 2000 for an apartment. Pay for up to 8000 for travel allowance. The iffy thing appears to be the teaching hours... I believe it was 25 x 40 minute classes per week. Also apparently might need to work Saturdays.

Has anyone had any experience with this school? Or do you know anyone who has? Even comments about working in Fuzhou in general would be helpful.

The location, salary, travel allowance, and teaching hours are all pretty standard for a high school job. In many high schools, students do tend to have Saturday classes of some sort, too. That stuff sounds okay to me, so I'd suggest shifting your focus beyond those things assuming you're interested in the job, such as what courses you'll be expected to teach (big difference in prep time between teaching one lesson to 25 classes or six lessons per week to four classes or whatever), what material you'll be using (some schools are inflexible with regard to what you'll be teaching, and textbooks can be of varying quality), how expensive apartments are in the area, etc.
