I've searched but can't find any recent threads on this.
Any thoughts on working for International House? Any red flags or major things worth considering when working for them? |

Standards vary dramatically. I've worked for IH in two locations - one was fine, one not. A friend worked for IH Tarragona last year and said it was a nightmare - low pay, poor conditions, overworked and unhelpful DoS, condescending, lazy ADoS. The problem is that you're never really sure until you get there.
I get the impression IH would like British Council-like standards with regard to professional development, support and salaries, but they're a very long way off. |

I'd echo this. I worked for IH for a few years when I was starting out and it was great. I know of colleagues who moved on to other IH schools in Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine and probably more if I thought about it.
Some had great experiences, other had terrible experiences. It's a bit of a gamble. |
