I would like to know if anyone has completed their attestation and if so how long has the whole process taken. Also, did the FCO and the Consular section of the embassy. How long did that take?

Last summer, it took me three months to get everything done in London (health checks, visa paperwork, and legalising degrees, etc). |

If you don't mind me asking was there a reason for the delay or just slow process? |

I have worked for three employers in Saudi in the last five years and the visa process has always taken around three months. Even if you sign a contract in February, you won't get the go ahead to apply for the visa until much later if you are starting in the summer.. I got the go ahead in August, and I wasn't in Saudi until late October. |

It's been established in this forum that the Saudis are dumber than lizards. That's probably the reason. |

Well it would seem their not as you say, My CELTA has been attested yesterday, I guess it's getting faster .
I think everyone should have their Celta completed quicker than normal. The new guy is very quick. |

Okay, let us know how long it took from first applying for your visa to getting everything finished. Good luck.. |

So was all that downtime while you waited for the visas? If so, that's like 9 months without income, which makes Saudi an expensive place to work. |

KSA isn't alone in that regard; that's not unusual for positions that start at specific times of the year (e.g., academic school year). Job seekers should plan accordingly. For example, while in the US waiting for my Saudi visa, I worked a three-month temp project as an academic test evaluator to pass the time and earn some money. |

Well, a number of teachers just work until the beginning of the summer. Things do seem to be speeding up in recent times. Talking expenses, you often have to pay for your medical, visa costs, and sometimes your flight, too. Some of this will be reimbursed - check with your employer as it does vary. |

The whole process took me up to 6 weeks, my CELTA was done between 2 to 3 weeks. I have known others who were getting their CELTA attested at the same time as myself but theirs took much longer 4-6 weeks if I remember correct. |

Hello everyone,
I've accepted a position in Saudi and am going through the whole visa process. However, the degree attestation seems to be taking quite long. I'm concerned that a further delay, with the Eid holidays around the corner, will mean that I won't be able to travel out there until after Eid.
Anyone had their attestations completed recently? And iA there anything I can do from my end to speed things up?
Thanks. |

You can always contact your uni registrar's office to find out if/when they verified your info with the SACB.
That said, you really can't compare your particular situation with others', especially since this is the busiest time of year for document and visa processing. You're just a drop in the bucket if you think about every business, every school, every university in Saudi Arabia that recently hired expats from the UK. Not to mention your university registrar's office is super busy processing every incoming student --- locals as well as foreigners from every corner of the world (including Saudis who also have to go through the SACB).
Hang tight --- you'll get there when you get there. That's the norm.. |

My attestation took around 9 days in total , I don't know how and why. I have friends who submitted theirs same time and still waiting till this day , I agree with nomad you just have to wait. You can try calling SCAB but they will tell you the same. |
