Hello.
I hope to be moving abroad very soon to teach English. As an aid to communication with students/colleagues I was wondering which of the latest gizmos/apps/programs are essential to this end? And if anyone had any ideas where I might find useful guides or if anyone had any essential tips?
I am 45 and I use my (archaic) phone for texting, phoning, quickly checking footy scores, news etc, but that's about it.
For example, even though I have been surrounded by people using it, I have never been near Facebook in my life.
Any useful advice please?
Thank you. |

Well, it depends on where you go, but I find Microsoft OneNote on a tablet to be useful when you walk into a room that doesn't even have a whiteboard (or if the Smartboard/computer breaks down).
I don't use apps on a regular basis in the classroom (I do for online instruction). For a few advanced students, Decibel 10th is interesting to help them visualize their intonation. |
