I haven't but heard that at Yokosuka the students are very polite.
At Yokota things were better but now teachers come straight from the US.

So, are you saying there is a military base in Yokosuka?

If there was a clueless award kzjohn would take the blue ribbon.

There is a naval base in Yokosuka.

The Naval Base is the largest overseas U.S. Naval installation in the world. It was acquired on Aug. 30, 1945, from Japan, and it is now one of the most strategically important U.S. military bases.

Thanks for your input kzjohn!

Are you referring to DoDEA positions? I doubt there's a big need for ESL for US military dependents. Plus, I suspect if there are any English classes for adults working on base, they're taught by military spouses. In fact, my mother was an English tutor at one point when we lived abroad.

No, I referring to the Japanese Military.

I do not know if they have an English training program or not but if they do I would like to apply. I have worked on military bases before teaching English (not for the US DOD) to new recruits, ESP.

Check out this rather old but possibly useful CNN article: Teacher in Japan: 'Once an English major ...'

You could have skipped a lot of grief if you had said this in your OP. I'm not the only one confused by your initial post.

FYI, I have tutored Japanese military, ground and air (over on the sea of japan side), but given your posts here, if you think I'm going to give you any info about it ... Ha!

It is in Uraga, I guess it is a naval college. Just part-time.
