A very tragic yet fascinating story that reflects the fact that while teaching in the developing world we sometimes find ourselves working alongside some rather unsavory colleagues, usually merely delusional compulsive liars, heavy drinkers, guys in bad marriages who need regular loans, etc.
I vaguely remember hearing of a similar murder story that occurred in Korea maybe 15 years ago, except I think it involved 2 women?
Anyway, I looked into the idea of teaching in Myanmar soon after all if the hype began about 5 years ago or so, and soon came to the conclusion that it is a bit too backward still.
This guy probably won't get too far but if you're in need of a new passport and identity, Bangkok is a reportedly a very good place to go. |

| What a terrible tragedy? I don't think this would have happened in the"Land of Smiles"! |

Apparently, he hasn't been caught yet. Maybe headed to Cambodia, where the border is said to be porous.

There is occasional farang on farang violence and murders, but I can't recall any involving teachers. Plenty of high profile murders and assaults on farangs committed by the locals, of course.
Anyway, this place now has two vacant positions if you are looking for work. |

It seems likely that they should be able to get a bead on his location using metadata from the photo.
Apparently Interpol is looking for him so if he wants to run, he's got his work cut out for him. As mentioned in the article, turning himself in would be the best thing. |

He's still not been found?
Is he holed up in some northern Thai village with a Groucho Marx moustache and glasses style disguise? |
