I have a somewhat intetesting phenomenon I am attempting to sort.

When I was living in Thailand I was able to order in English over the phone home delivery of food with little or no problems.

Here in the Philippines where I am presently living, I find it almost impossible to do what I was able to do in Thailand. Virtually every order gets messed up in one or more ways, i.e. , wrong items delivered, missing items, delivery to wrong address, no delivery, delayed delivery, etc.

The call takers here seem to have a hard time understanding what I am saying and so ordering something very simple seems to take forever with my having to repeat things again and again.

Any ideas as to what is going on?

Have them repeat the things back to you that you ordered once you make your request.
If the above is already being done then yeah it's frustrating.

I met another American there who owned a small gym with his Filipina wife. He told me when he places orders things for their gym that they are quite often being sent the wrong equipment.
