Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has some information about working at this place. From my own research there's surprisingly little online. I did find some rather scary information about a Sino-British college in Nanning, but obviously that's a different operation.
Any information appreciated. |

Sino-British College in Nanning? Don't you mean the Sino-Canadian College in Nanning? |

Nope, though I have heard of and interviewed with the Canadian College in Nanning.
I googled 'Sino British College'. and found a thread on a different board about a Sino British College in Nanning. I'm not sure if it really exists, or the OP on the other thread got confused when typing. |

I created a thread to try to get some info on this place in September but didn't get any responses. This is the place you mean?

This explains a little more.

There is a thread on here which is generally negative, but it's about 6 years old. I did briefly meet a teacher who worked there and was positive about her experience, but I didn't get much detail. I was hoping that others might have a little more insight. |

Yeah, that's the place I mean. I'm surprised at the lack of information on the place.

If you google 'Working at the Sino-british college', a link on the first page provides you with information for a Sino-british college in Nanning, which is why I wanted to make it clear in my original post that I was interested in the Shanghai based Sino-british college.
I've no idea if they are linked, I don't think they are.

Looks to me like most of these 'sino-wherever' College programmes are nothing more than joint ventures to extract cash from the parents of students who have failed the government entry exams...what with the zero fail policy, a backdoor entry to the major of choice. And very very few of these students have any intention of studying overseas-and it's the overseas study component that many of these places are marketed upon. |

That sounds about right. The programmes seem to lack a certain rigour as well. |
