This is determined by the browsing behavior of the visitor. So, it is more likely you have searched VPNs, and based on those stats you are getting VPN ads. Look in the mirror before you accuse others.

Well, aren't you an ugly little troll? I've never searched for a VPN on my phone.

I am not a troll. If you did not access the ads with a browser but used some phone app in a group, then the group's behavior would be recorded and you would get ads related to the group. I don't why or how revealing this truth makes one a troll. I didn't know if you were part of a group initially. That doesn't make me a troll either.

Ads come in different flavors, location and activity are two of the biggies. Another thing I noticed is that if I go to a media site like Youtube, I don't have to wait as long for the ads to finish when I have visited similarly related videos. If I go to a video with different content (say a science video as opposed to a sports video) I have to wait 15 seconds instead of 5.

Maybe they figure you may have already seen the ads or know if you are interested or not, but if it is a new kind of ad then they want to spend more time enticing you into something. This might be another reason why you are getting VPN ads. If your group has activity based on VPNs but you don't have a history of this, then you might be part of their target group as a potential new customer. Even your inaction can tell a lot about you online.

Twitter keeps sending me similar ads. They give you 2 new posts/tweets usually, and then some ad before the other posts/tweets.

Fair enough. It was the mirror comment that I felt was unwarranted. Maybe you didn't mean it as snippy as it sounded. Claws retracted. Smile

The PSB would have to find out if the interviewee was working at another school on a non Z visa, otherwise maybe they offer the job telling the person that they don't need a legal visa, that is invite them to work on a tourist visa without the person really understanding that it's illegal. Curious, you could get innocent tourists entrapped with this. This whole thing happening might be bogus.

this was sent to me from The Waijiao on Weixin .....I cannot vet this so it is simply FYI....if this is in fact a sting....and there has been other stings like this before.. "The Fashion Show Sting"..it might be the right time to get right with the Visa office...

....
Guerciotti, I did not post the advertising and addressed the VPN/ advertising as well as the possibility that the CSP maybe scammer themselves....what more do you want? However, I am sure your in enough control
of your faculties to decide if this is pertinent to you or not .. but to clue you in .. due to the incident of a teacher taping the mouth of a child in Shanghai and the discovery of the status of the center as to license, it is very likely their will be blow back.... take it for what you think it is worth ...

My school has several people working on tourist visas and about 10 working on business visas and student visas. ALL ILLEGAL.

A visit from the psb would clean house where I work

Met some Poles (Polish) in my city, who are on Business Visas. One is a football coach, at a local sports club, and he also gets farmed out to teach in the local schools. His wife is a kg teacher. They are both highly desirable here, presumably because they are both blond and blue eyed, which Chinese parents seem to hold in high esteem, no matter the quals of the people purveying their services, be it English language teaching or other.

Caveats to the Business Visa

1 They have to leave the country every 60 days, but a quick border crossing in Shenzhen to HK and back a few mins later takes care of that.

2 They do not really have the security that the Z visa gives to holders of the coveted foreign expert certificate.

Aside from that, the Business Visa has advantages, such as being able to work in many places, although methinks that this might be risky if the authorities really wanted to clamp down.

Money is everything, for the Business Visa, and a company which is paid to deliver the invitation letter, does not really care much beyond that.

With regard to the numerous border crossings - which might look funny if probed - the two business holders told me that they were only quizzed once as to what they were doing in China, but were quickly able to satisfy the border official.

So what is the word on the China Scam Patrol. What they are saying doesn't make sense.
