How does being married to a 'chinese person' qualify you as a 'top ' foreign expert? How does being fluent [in Chinese I presume] make you a 'top' foreign expert? Why do people need to be classified at all.....?

If you are bilingual (Chinese being one of them) then you can get work in other fields other than teaching English. Being married to a Chinese person means you are not bound by the Z visa restrictions. You don't have complete freedom, but you can at least stay in China when things go sour in the workplace. One of my previous employers was married to a Chinese woman. So, he could run "his" English school through the help of his in-laws. He's originally from the US, native accent.

You've stated the benefits of being married to a Chinese person, and the benefits of being able to speak Chinese-but I don't think these are the criteria for granting a 'foreigner 1st class' classification! I would have thought that a senior academic in a speciality field, or a highly skilled professional would be the recipients of this class A status. Meaning that person had a skill-set, or capabilities that are in great demand. I still don't like it. Mad

Not hard to understand. You boink your mistress and you are good to go. Instant.

If you really love her and have a future, then you can make it work. This is what I outlined previously in my hubbly bubbly post above.

Any questions thus far? I aim to please.
