Itsacademic have put up this recent advert for Saudi Arabia.
English Language Lecturers Required - Prestigious University in Saudi Arabia - Feb or Aug 2017 Start - Tax-free Salary and Excellent Benefits!
JOB OVERVIEW: It's Academic Educational Staffing is an official recruiting representative of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) located in Saudi Arabia with multiple campus locations. We are currently accepting applicants for English Language Lecturers and Teachers at their Jeddah, Riyadh and Al-Ahsa campus locations for a February 2017 start or later. The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team, helping to improve the educational standards at the university. Copies of degrees, certificates and reference information will need to be submitted later for a candidate to be successfully accepted.
START DATE: Feb and August 2017
I have two questions:
I want to know about the referencing information mentioned in today's advert. Does anyone know, who's gone through them, if that's just the contact details of your referees (email, telephone numbers, etc) or is it written ref. letters by your referees.
Also, they mention three destinations, I'd like to go to Jeddah rather than Riyadh or Al-Ahasa, can the candidate choose which place they want to go to, or is it like in Oman, where they send you to where you're 'needed most'.
I've rang their office, but just get a recorded message.
I'm thinking about applying, and just want to know as much as possilbe before I apply. Also, if there's any other tips, advice you have about the interview process, I'd appreciate it too. If there's anyone out there who's been hired by them, that would really help. Thanks in advance.

They are somewhat strange. They send you email out of the blue about a possible position for you asking if you are interested. You respond to them in the affirmative. You never hear from them again including their not answering your follow-up emails.
It's the new normal. |

I can believe that btsmrtfan, I rang their contact telephone nmbers, and the answer machine says you must apply online first, then depending on their selection criteria and if you pass mustard, they'll make contact with you. |

That's typical; recruiters don't want to waste time answering job seekers' random questions unless they've applied and meet the qualifications for the position.
Since this recruiter is not the employer, you might also check out King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Science Jeddah. |

Thanks Nomad Soul, I saw that thread, it was a very good one, actually informative, compared to some of the other stuff on here. |

Really?
So how do you explain their contacting someone that has applied through them for the position and telling the applicant that he/she is well qualified for the position and asking if the applicant is still interested in the position that is answered by the applicant in the affirmative; but then never getting back to the applicant, including responding to email follow-ups? |

Who knows. Perhaps they received CVs from applicants with stronger qualifications. Or KSAU-HS had the final say on applicants to be interviewed. Or they have fewer positions to fill. Or your age is an issue. Or...
Move on and apply to other opportunities. |
