If you're not earning at least 3900 zl. a month, I don't really see any point in coming. Is that netto or brutto by the way? The 400 initial ZUS payment minus taxes, apartment and bills will gobble through that 3900 zl right quick.

Slight update on this. The rules have been clarified, and essentially, you need to either employ two people (on proper work contracts) or have more than the average wage coming in each month to justify a residence permit based on self employment. They may also accept a business projection showing that you intend to reach such a target, but you'll only be able to use that route once. In short, you need to be earning at least 3,900zl a month - and that number is rising quickly.
Is this for all regions? Can you send the link?

3,900zl/mo. isn't a hard figure to reach in Warsaw, IMO, but I wonder how doable it is in the smaller cities.
Here you go - http://www.forummigracyjne.org/common/files_download.php?fid=402 - second page. I think it was part of the changes earlier this year - but it does provide a reason why ecocks and others have been knocked back for residence permits. It does mean that the easy residence route for Americans has now been abolished - and I think anyone coming now trying to use the self-employment route can also expect to be refused if their business isn't capable of hitting the 12x3900zl mark.

Thanks for posting this, delph. The last bullet point does support what you're claiming about having to reach the monthly average.

You'd think that if it's all about one-person businesses exceeding a certain figure, they could at least do away with the silly requirement of your 'employer(s)' having to take out a work permit on your behalf. Rolling Eyes Kind of like shooting you in the foot and asking you to run a 10k.
