Not sure if this is the right place to post questions about employers.
Can anyone provide some details of this school? Is it a reputable or recommended? Thanks
Another one, anyone know of Mecha Studio, Yuyao City? |

Glassdoor gives York a high rating based on 10 reviews. Granted that's not a big sample, but if you read the comments, you will get a better idea of the place. The salary isn't great, but this is apparently offset by good support and on-time payments. Not sure what the city would be like, but don't expect a lot of sunshine for that location in China. Don't expect rent to be cheap either if you have to find your own place. Probably not a bad place to park it for 10 months or so if you are young or retired or don't worship money, and don't mind teaching kids. |

Just doing a quick search and the Mecha is a recruiting agency. I don't know if they are reputable, but take a look at their website and see if you want to work with them. http://mecha-studio.com/about/?1.html |

I saw an ad of theirs at my CELTA center in Toronto last September and applied. I think they have three branches in the city of Fuzhou and the management team seemed good.
I think the salary was 8500-9500 with shared accommodation but can't remember.
I think it would be a decent place to work all things concerned but Fuzhou seemed like a small city to me.
I also think they have their own website if you Google it and can apply directly. |

It does sound like the place expects a lot of work out its teachers for that meager salary. Also, there is a lot of micromanaging with frequent observations, etc. Personally, I'd give this a pass unless you happen to be in Fuzhou for some reason or are desperate for a job. |

When I visited Fuzhou, I dropped by one of their locations near Xihu (west lake). In my opinion it kind of looks like one of those rinky-dink language centers for kids.
I personally wouldn't work there, but you might be different. |
