And Hod it's hard to write a log book report if the guys don't know the names of the equipment, work locatons etc etc...this is about contextualized teaching and is both industry and company specific at times. |

I think ESP is hard work. You can’t just turn to chapter 7 of Headway, |
I was only asking.

See where I'm going?
Which teacher would you hire/want? And which teacher is worth more? |
Don’t ask me. The opinion of that $2000 a month school is more important.
I can only respect 17 years of hard work, but I have to say that until the planet’s oil and gas supplies deplete, the industry will go on regardless of its employees’ and contractors’ language skills, English or otherwise.
As I said, companies are under pressure to do things on the cheap, within reason. Paying an experienced geologist £1000 a day is a bargain as their expenses will soon be turned into massive profits. Getting a lemon in to do the job would end up wasting millions. Paying a consultant commissioning engineer the same is a no brainer for the same reasons.
But how can poor English cost millions? It won’t. Be realistic.
The opening poster (you) expressed concerns. No one can rest on their laurels. |
