this job in Dubai has been posted on the website
http://www.eslcafe.com/joblist/index.cgi?read=42109
seems a bit fishy to me.. Im just wondering if anybody knows anything about this..
I emailed them and they dont provide a flight and expect the teacher to pay their own airfare to get there
also said that I could come and work on a tourist visa.. surely this cant be legit. |

The ad likely targets resident expats and Emiratis -- those already in the UAE and new to teaching. |

It's a similar advert to one that appeared last week, and which we discussed on the thread 'First Saudi; now UAE?'
However, it does give more detail than the other one, and it's also a different recruiter. |

Still looks to me like a total racket... hire some slave labor... pay them crap... house them in dorms.
Yet they require a BA+CELTA+experience...
And then they have you work illegally on a tourist visa. Yes, that is totally illegal.

Oh dear- if this is the way things are heading in UAE! There are contradictions and absolute horrific elements to this job posting.A contradiction- it mentions teachers 'starting out' on their international career-yet asks for teaching experience? The horrors- if the 5000 salary isn't bad enough we then come to the 'dormitory accomodation'! It's funny that anybody would even consider this..... |
