Generally, what countries are considered to be the best paying?

What are considered the worst?

Thank you.

By all accounts, the middle east and the usa pay quite well.

North Korea and Afghanistan are supposed to be quite poor chjoices for those looking to get rich in efl.

More seriously, a useful answer depends so much on your nationality, age, experience, and qualifications, that a straight answer isn't really practical without that information.

Personally I'd worry a lot more about lifestyle than level of pay. I get paid somewhat less at my current job than the previous one, but the quality of life here is far, far better.

For some reason there is a big demand for ESL teachers in the UK, especially in summer. A lot of foreign students come over to learn. These jobs pay quite well and usually give free accomodation.

There are some very high paying jobs in ESL in the Middle East. Many of the jobs require a Masters. Women are not eligible for all the jobs. There will often be minimum and maximum age restrictions. Look for jobs in the oil producing countries if you are looking for top wages. There are security issues to deal with, but the wages can be great. Check the Middle East boards for more info on that.

My wage, by Western standards, is atrocious. But that's just western standard. Here, I'm on a pretty fair wage, and I know that if I was concentrating more on private students, I could easily double my income per month...
I have to agree with Is650 - lifestyle is the important consideration. Despite my despicably low wage, I'm quite happy as afr as money is concerned. I'm able to put by a fair chunk of my wage each month, and still go out on a regular basis, eat out practically every day, and buy a whole load of things I really don't need...
You can be paid a fortune, work really hard for it, and then spend it all on just surviving. Or you could get paid next to nothing, work less, have fun and be happy........ Very Happy
