What does anyone know about working at the elementary or grade school ESL level?

Are the schools co-ed? Basic Hours? In the U.S. men are almost non-existent on the elementary level. How is that dealt with in the Middle East? If segregated, then male teachers would be required.

I noticed salaries ranging up to $4,000 to $5,000 USDollars.
Can you make that same salary in college education?

Anybody with experience teaching elementary in Saudi or UAE that can give some info?

Thanks

All Saudi private and public schools are segregated, although that's not the case in every education system in the Mid East.

The better KSA private schools require a k-12 teaching license/cert and relevant experience. Take a look at Teach Away's site for actual job ads to get an idea of the curriculum (e.g., British, American, IB...), qualifications, gender requirements, and teaching responsibilities. Also check out websites of individual schools.

You presently teach in KSA and should know that salary depends on: 1) who the employer is, 2) your qualifications, and 3) the type/level of position.
