If a job posting reads "salary +35% accommodation and transportation" does this mean that the employer assumes responsibility for 35% of the total cost of housing and transportation and the employee pays the remainder?
Does it mean that a sum equal to 35% of one's salary will be provided by the employer to cover the costs of housing and transportation?
Does this also imply that the employee is on his/her own to find housing??
Or does it mean something else?? |

I presume it means that the employer pays 35% of one's salary to cover accommodation and transport costs. So for instance, if an employee's salary is SAR 10,000, then he/she will receive SAR 3,500 for accom and transport, making the total package SAR 13,500.
In terms of whether or not the employee will have to find his/her own accommodation, it really depends. There was a similar clause in my last contract, but housing was provided. However, had I opted to find my own housing, then the allowance would have been paid with my salary.

Can you post the entire salary and benefits portion from the job ad here? |

Sure. It's pretty brief, but here it is:
SALARY
$8000 - $10000 (depending on quals and experiences) a month +35% accommodation and transportation.
If MENA_chica's interpretation is correct, that would be a $3,500 monthly housing and transportation allowance! |

That's how I read it as well -- that the housing and transportation stipends are separate/exclusive of the base salary.
BTW, I saw that ad and noticed it indicates "He/She will manage a team..." yet the position also requires the individual be "able to travel around the kingdom." |

Yes, Scot...although it could be real and having someone who does actual quality control over 30 college programs sounds like a fair move, there are a few indicators...
It all looks fairly copacetic till the last portion:
Contract starts April-Early Dec.
(Errr,... when?)
All travel cost is covered.
(Maybe run this sentence by one of your teachers.)
All person with above criteria are encouraged to apply to employer directly at:
[email protected]
(A gmail account...*sigh*)
Interviews for approved candidates start March 15th in person in UK or through Skype.
(the UK)
(Finally this doesn't really make sense):
Posted By: Colleges of Excellence <[email protected]>
apply to employer directly at: [email protected]
Colleges of Excellence
(...I don't see an actual website but they have a LinkedIn profile and are listed here):
https://www.sagia.gov.sa/en/InvestorServices/GovernmentSupport/Pages/CollegesofExcellence.aspx
Do your due diligence folks. Perhaps it's the real deal.
They're looking for 10-15 years experience in teaching/management, but then.....who isn't?
(MOD edit for email addresses) |

I would bet money that the scheme originates in Ibadan or Lagos. |

It seems that the Colleges of Excellence exists, but whether this organization is actually hiring for it is another question.
Grammar mistakes and a gmail account aren't killers on their own. The idea of a "her" traveling the country is a bigger red flag to me.
If any money is requested up front for anything... I would run away.
