Blatant? As in certain countries will not process work visas for people over a certain age? As in highly qualified people on staff not being renewed due to having hit a specific age at which a work visa would not be issued? Is that blatant or employers following the law in specific countries? |

| Quite a lot of hiring although it usually takes ages to get here. I know several guys who were 58/59 and they were taken onboard no problem. Once you hit 60 your chances become much slimmer. |

If you are too old according to the rules/laws of the country or employer, you won't be hired... pretty obvious... just like the fact that there is hiring.

After mid-50s it is a problem although you may get something on one of those shay "Business visas" in Saudi Arabia.
Because of age restrictions I moved from the airline to KFUPM at the age of 56 and stayed there until ill-health forced me out at the age of 64.
There comes a time when you have to accept that your working life is over. |
