Looks like summer vacation might start earlier this year...

Spot on, yes.

All students and staff need to be finished by the 29th of Sha'aban as per the Minister's instructions.

A 3 month and 20 days Summer vacation this year? Wow, if there are middle-men recruiters still not paying their teachers during summer vacation time, this will have a huge impact, won't it?

As far as I know it is just the classes and exams that have been pushed forward. Exit date remains the same. The University hasn't confirmed exactly what is happening yet so let's see what happens.

I can offer In-service Training and PD Courses. A popular one is "Seven Stratagems of Sucessfully Psychotic Saudi Supervisors". My fees are reasonable.

Haha, all that desk warming, planning for the next academic year blah blah, curriculum development.....yada yada yada......

Think I actually prefer the military.

A trait common to educational institutions throughout Saudi is the desire for the foreigner to be working at all times.

My institution last year in Ramadan thought of something even better! No desk warming! No boring CPD! Just plain TEACHING... yeah! The English Prep Year staff (and just the females, mind you) were the only ones having to show up for 20 days, to teach a just-created-off-the-top-of-(can't say who)'s-head "community program", which basically consisted in giving free classes to any student or staff of the university in various areas (CV writing and job interview skills, Conversation skills, ESP). Fun times!
