Just wondering if life in Kuwait is cheaper than life in Qatar?
Also if you had to choose between the 2 countries, which is better and why ? |

Qatar was more expensive for me because of booze and pork. I also found more reasons to visit expensive restaurants in Qatar because booze was on offer. I found restaurants in Doha (no booze) more welcoming. A wider and better quality of choices.
I preferred Doha, but maybe Kuwait has improved. It was over 5 years ago that I was there in Kuwait and I left Doha a few months ago. I think more options for social life in Qatar.
Of course the positives come with negatives and because of more options for entertainment in Doha, I would say it would be more expensive. I did socialise at homes in Doha, but it was cheaper in Kuwait with homebrew and cheaper takeaways.
I would choose Qatar because of a better quality of life. But a lot depends on your job and living conditions. At the end in Doha I faced a long daily commute and the traffic really got to me. I would arrive home and not want to get in the car again, limiting my options. |

I guess you haven't been watching the news. Qatar is presently experiencing a diplomatic crisis and has been sanctioned by Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt. See Full effects of sanctions on Qatar yet to take hold. |

Both Qatar and Kuwait are almost same as far as infrastructure, restaurants, malls, coastal areas are concerned. Booze and air connectivity are two definite plus points in Qatar.
Both are conservative countries. Respect their culture.
The organization's culture will NOT be same as western / International companies. Follow it without applying your thoughts.
Go anywhere but focus on saving money and be away from organization's politics. |
